Celebrate the new exhibitions on October 10th from 6-8!
Thorneycroft’s exhibition at the VPAG titled Black Forest (village) brings together a selection of works from recent bodies of work titled Herdsman, Black Forest (dark waters) and Village. The exhibition explores the mythology of the Black Forest and creates an area to conceptually stage fictional dialogues between the themes of power, violence and ritual, while asking the viewers to consider the human condition and our desires. In many aspects, Thorneycroft’s exhibition accentuates fairytale and folklore stories where the forest is seen as a source of threat, filled with danger where horrific things happen to innocent people.
Genius in Chaos: The Lived Experience of ADHD
Vernon ADHD Task Force is an ad hoc, volunteer committee of community members and professionals, dedicated to raising awareness and enhancing resources for individuals living with ADHD. To this end, we organize an event every October, for ADHD Awareness month. This coming October, we are planning to show case art work produced by local individuals living with ADHD, with a theme centred on personal interpretations of what it is like to live with the disorder. The artists will include children and adults.
