The Vernon Public Art Gallery (VPAG) is proud to present the Okanagan Print Triennial (OPT) 2021, the Okanagan’s international printmaking competition and exhibition. For the 5th time, the OPT will bring to the Okanagan the best in printmaking worldwide. This year the VPAG will host artwork created by 28 artists from around the globe.
About the OPT 2021
Launched in 2009 at the VPAG, the OPT celebrates the vitality and variety of approaches and techniques in contemporary printmaking. This collaborative project of the Vernon Public Art Gallery, Kelowna Art Gallery, and the University of British Columbia Okanagan campus, is an open, juried exhibition featuring the world’s leading printmaking artists. The exhibition aims to bring the very best in current printmaking practice to audiences in the Okanagan Region of British Columbia.
With 680 works from 103 artists submitted to this year’s OPT, the jurors were faced with some difficult choices. The results are a strong, curated exhibition which highlights the best of contemporary printmaking. The varieties of printmaking range from traditional to experimental, and include methods such as mezzotint, etching, lithography, and screen printing. Please visit our website for more information on the OPT 2021.
