Join the Vernon Public Art Gallery on the last Saturday of each month, Family Saturdays take place with an art project suitable for both little kids and big kids. Parents/guardians are also encouraged to participate and create their own works of art. The workshop begins promptly at 1 p.m., and families are welcome to stay for the whole session, from 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., or to depart sooner. All materials required for the workshops are provided. To ensure a space, please pre-register online.

May 27th Emergence Printmaking

• You will begin your session by touring the UBCO: Emergence exhibition. This exhibition highlights the work of graduating UBCO visual arts students. You will then be making prints inspired by the works.

June 24th Painting with Oil Pastels

• We will begin our session by touring an exhibition of new oil paintings by Jim Kalnin. Kalnin contemplates life, nature, the ordinary, and the extraordinary in his works. Inspired by the exhibition, we will make our own Jim Kalnin inspired paintings.

July 29th Lino-cut Printmaking 

• Your session will begin with a tour of the exhibition Infinitesimal by Lisa Matthias. Matthias explores bird ecology through her wood-cut prints. Inspired by the exhibition, we will be making your own lino-cut prints.

August 26th Collage Landscapes 

• Your session will begin with a tour of Emerging From The Ashes of an Okanagan Genocide. by Bernadette Gregoire. Inspired by the exhibition, we will make Okanagan landscapes using collage.
